How we handle personal data submitted through astranovamaritime.com. Last updated August 2026.
Who we are
Astra Nova Maritime OPC Private Limited ("we", "us") operates this website. For questions about this notice or about data we hold, write to info@astranovamaritime.com or to 2nd Floor, 108, Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
What we collect
Enquiry form. Your name, company, email address, telephone number, the service you selected, any vessel details you provide and your message. We also log the submission time and the IP address the message was sent from, to help us identify automated spam.
Recruitment. If you apply for a seagoing or shore position, we receive the documents you send us — CV, certificates of competency, endorsements, seafarer identity documents, medical fitness certificates and references. These are special categories of information in some jurisdictions and we treat them accordingly.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard access logs (IP address, request, user agent, timestamp) for security and diagnostics.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and to provide the services you ask about.
- To assess job applications and, where you are engaged, to administer employment, payroll and statutory manning records.
- To meet flag state, port state and MLC 2006 record-keeping obligations.
- To protect the site against spam and abuse.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not add enquirers to a marketing list without being asked to. We charge no fee to seafarers at any stage, and we never ask for payment details through this website.
Cookies and third parties
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. A short-lived session cookie may be set by the enquiry form purely to rate-limit repeated submissions. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads; if you would rather avoid that, the fonts can be self-hosted on request.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained for up to 24 months. Applications that are not successful are retained for up to 12 months so we can consider you for later vacancies, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Records we are legally required to keep — seafarer employment agreements, wage records, certificates — are retained for the period the applicable regulations require.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or object to a particular use. Email info@astranovamaritime.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry submissions are transmitted to our hosting provider and forwarded to our company mailbox. Recruitment documents are held on access-controlled systems available only to the crewing team.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use data already collected will be communicated directly where we hold contact details for you.
